CrimeGhost: Detective Mystery · Effective 26 October 2026

The short version

The game never asks who you are. To back up your progress, it creates an anonymous account (a random ID, with no name or email) and saves your game progress to our server. There are no ads. The game records anonymous usage events (for example which case you opened or that a hint was used) to help us improve it; you can turn this off in Settings.

Who we are

CrimeGhost: Detective Mystery ("the game") is made by Yohanes Debebe Yilma ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at yohanes@adulislabs.com.

What the game saves

To save your game, the app stores the following on your phone and backs it up to our server:

This is linked to a random anonymous ID, not to you. We don't sell it or share it with anyone.

What we collect

The game progress listed above, the random account ID it's stored under, and anonymous usage events (below). There is no advertising and no crash reporting, and the game never asks for your name, email or phone number.

Usage analytics

To see which parts of the game work and where players get stuck, the app sends anonymous game events to our analytics provider, PostHog: the app opening, a case being opened, a question answered right or wrong, a hint used, a case solved (with stars), the Premium screen being viewed or a product tapped, a setting changed, and which app inside a case device was opened. Each event carries the same random ID as your cloud save, your device type and app version.

It never includes your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, IP address, what you type as answers, or anything from your phone. There is no screen recording. You can turn usage data off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data; the app then sends nothing more. PostHog's privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy

Cloud saves

Your progress is stored by our backend provider, Supabase, on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit. Supabase's privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

Permissions

The game never asks for your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera.

Sharing

The game has no share features. Nothing you do in it is posted or sent anywhere on your behalf.

The people in the game are fictional

The phones and laptops you investigate contain messages, photos, names, phone numbers, addresses and health data. All of it is made up. Any resemblance to real people or companies is coincidental.

Children

The game is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

In the game, go to Profile → Delete account. That deletes your progress from our server and from your phone straight away. You can also email us, and we'll delete it within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. The only data we hold is your game progress. Contact us at any time and we'll answer within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we add features such as purchases or account linking, we'll update this policy before those features ship, describe exactly what they collect, and change the date at the top. The current version will always be on this page.
